Galeria melissa

Spending my Saturday in Covent garden, I have explored the Galeria Melissa London. I am in love with these shoes since a friend of mine, Luana asked me to smell her pair of melissinhas a few years ago. They smell amazing, so sweet, they are comfortable and they come in every style, every colour you could ever dream of!

I got amazed by this gallery, I have already seen their stores both in Brazil and here in London, but this Galeria Melissa is something very new for me. It elevates these shoes to a whole new level. They are not just ordinary shoes but a piece of art. Each and every pair of them.

Melissa is a Grendene's premium brand founded in 1971, it is one of the world's largest shoe manufactures. Melissa has 32 million pairs of shoes sold in the past decade. Melissa can be found at various trendsetting spots and event in the world's fashion capitals such as Colette and the Louvre (Paris), 10 Corso Como (Milan), Selfridges and Dover street market (London), the Grammy's (Los Angeles), São Paulo Fashion Week and Fashion Rio.

Melissa's first concept store opened in Sao Paulo's fashion district in 2005, blending an exciting artistic and shopping experience.

As a part of its expansion plan, Melissa opened its first international store in 2012. The chosen location is the heart of Soho in New York city. Galeria Melissa New York aims to consolidate the brand's values, promoting design and plastic with the goal of bringing relevant exhibitions to people's lives. The venue's architecture was inspired by caves, creating tranquility amidst the chaotic pace of the city and providing customers with a more pleasurable and introspective shopping experience.

ONE BY ONE

Melissa One by One is a flat that fits both the left and the right foot. Sold separately, allows you to create 81 pairs with only 9 styles. Sold as half pairs.

"It's quite special what melissa can do with plastic. Each shoe has a character nand tells a story."

- Vivienne Westwood -

“Melissa has been great in translating Karl’s inspirations and designs in genuinely fun and fashionable products that many women will be very happy to wear”

- Pier Paolo Righi, CEO of the KARL LAGERFELD brand -

Melissa Zig Zag's design carries the Campana brothers' DNA. Brothers Fernando and Humberto Campana, whose work has international impact, are highly specialized in the use of “subversive” material. These designers’ collaboration with Melissa, which was launched in the summer of 2005, was fostered by their famous chair Zig Zag.
